Advanced Editorial Interior Photography Workshop

Charleston, SC April 22 & 23, 2025

We’ve created an experience for anyone who has previously taken a Karlisch Workshop to join us in a beautiful location to create portfolio images and push their photography to the next level. From the start, we’ll be fully immersed in the creative process—bypassing the basics and diving straight into creating.

Limited to 8 photographers, this workshop offers opportunities for guidance and feedback from Stephen as you refine your approach, expand your creative thinking, and elevate your work.

This is an opportunity to create the images you want to create in a stunning home, working with a stylist. Whether collaborating in small groups or working independently, you'll have the space to experiment and capture images that go beyond the expected.

Stephen will share how he works with a stylist to break down rooms into compelling vignettes that land on magazine covers and in high-end campaigns. While lighting is a major focus, we’ll explore every style—from strobe to continuous to subtractive natural light—pushing creative boundaries to develop a distinctive and sophisticated approach.

Learn how to create simple still-life vignettes that enhance your overall room compositions. Take creative risks and develop a sharper eye for storytelling through light, texture, and composition.

Beyond the photography, this is also a chance to unwind and explore Charleston with like-minded photographers. Build relationships, exchange ideas, and expand your creative circle in an inspiring, collaborative environment.

A NOTE FROM US

Education is something we weren't seeking but found us. And we are truly grateful. Stephen is a natural and began privately mentoring photographers from around the world, which led us into starting our in-person workshops in 2023. Karlisch Workshops has brought together photographers passionate about improving their technical lighting skills and networking with like minded interior and architectural photographers. We shoot interiors full time and offer these workshops as we can when everything falls into place. In 2024 we launched our first course that is an introduction to lighting for interior photography and is a gateway into taking a peek into Stephen's lighting methods that have simplified the workflow for so many photographers around the world.

Our community from the workshop and course participants is ever growing, an open and nurturing group for everyone to share and learn from. We are using over three decades of experience in the Commercial and Editorial photo industry to provide quality, intensive photography education in a comfortable learning environment.

Thank you for considering entering this journey with us.

All our best,

Kristen and Stephen Karlisch
