If you have struggled on an interior shoot with the lighting, or been stuck in a situation you just can’t control or get the look you want out of, then you need to incorporate using strobes. Using strobes will empower you to take control of difficult shots, and create shots you didn’t even realize by making your own light.
This 3 day workshop is designed as an intimate group learning experience, allowing each student to benefit from group training while also having the opportunity for one-on-one specific coaching with Stephen Karlisch to teach you how to get the look you want out of your lighting.

Create a repeatable setup that will work on all your photos to provide a consistent look in all your shots
Get better color and contrast quickly and easily without having to be a photoshop guru
Speed up your editing time
Learn when and where to use strobe, how it can help you and when to just say no to strobes
See how to use strobe to mimic natural light and overpower it when the natural light isn’t working for a shot
Take control of the ambient light and create a unique style of lighting that will make you stand out in a sea of ambient-only photographers
This workshop is for any photographer shooting interiors or is planning on incorporating interiors into their resume.
We will go from the basics of understanding ambient light and what a strobe is and can do, to some complex lighting situations and conditions to help you craft the look you want.
For the ambient only photographers who struggle with color casts, and hours of retouching, this course will speed up your workflow considerably, and get you through some tough rooms with poor lighting conditions.
You will learn how to spend less time in photoshop fixing bad lighting, and get it right in camera on one or two layers max. No complex multi-layered images and difficult time consuming masking on shots.
If you are a real estate, or even portrait/wedding photographer, this will give you new skills to improve or add a new stream of revenue to your service offerings no matter what your genre of photography is.
You may have a strobe kit already but struggle to make it look natural, good, non-flash(y), and are just confused about how and when to use strobe. This workshop will make you love that flash.
If you desire to know the most valuable information about when and how to best use strobe, to be connected to other friendly photographers in an open yet private trustworthy community while having fun, then this is a great fit for you.
By joining our in person workshop you will be added to an exclusive private Facebook growing community that have attended our in person workshops.

We met on a fashion shoot over 25 years ago and have worked together ever since. Apprenticing and assisting photographers in different genres was what you did to learn the craft, skills and business of photography. Our industry can be a lonely one and gatekept which helps none of us.
Education is something we weren't seeking but found us. And we are truly grateful. Stephen is a natural and began privately mentoring photographers from around the world, which led us into starting our in-person workshops in 2023. Karlisch Workshops has brought together photographers passionate about improving their technical lighting skills and networking with like minded interior and architectural photographers. We shoot interiors full time and offer these workshops as we can when everything falls into place. In 2024 we launched our first course that is an introduction to lighting for interior photography and is a gateway into taking a peek into Stephen's lighting methods that have simplified the workflow for so many photographers around the world.
Our community from the workshop and course participants is ever growing, an open and nurturing group for everyone to share and learn from. We are using over three decades of experience in the Commercial and Editorial photo industry to provide quality, intensive photography education in a comfortable learning environment.
Thank you for considering entering this journey with us.
All our best,
Kristen and Stephen Karlisch
